670th anniversary of Amir Temur to be celebrated in Shahrisabz
Navruz, the holiday that marks the revival of nature, a Persian New Year, is
currently being celebrated in all comers of the Uzbek land.
It is probably not accidental that the celebration of a remarkable day in the
history of Uzbek nation, the anniversary of Sahibkiran-Hazrat falls on the
middle of this festive month. It is the commander and leader skills of this
great ruler of the medieval (1370-1405) that played a crucial part in the
creation of a centralized state with the heart in Movarounnahr (valley between
the rivers of Amudarya and Syrdarya rivers), on the land of Uzbekistan, with the
capital in the city of Samarkand. It is during the reign of Sahibkiran and his
successors that science, culture, literature and education bloomed and developed
together with the state.
We are proud of the fact that not only are we the heirs of his -creations, but
are also the contemporaries of the new revival of the independent state of
Uzbekistan, which was build by Great Temur.
He was the head of the state built on "custom laws and traditions". His words
"Our deeds identify us indeed!" are the clear evidence this, because thanks to
his accomplishments the states of Asia and Europe were united into a single
geo-political space. This constituted the historical mission of this great
ruler. And his idea of global partnership, international, interregional, and
inter-state stability is quite urgent these days, because these factors have
positive effect on the development and prosperity of the state. Constructive
approach to popularization and implementation of these postulates characterizes
the actions of Uzbekistan's administration. An important role, in this, is given
to the art and creative work of the Uzbek citizens walking in the vanguard of
the national diplomacy, because the art language is an international one, and a
multi-stage art education, protected by the Uzbek government, plays an important
role in bringing up creative personalities, who will determine the future
success and progress of our state.
All this, undoubtedly, influences the quality of education, the improvement of
which is defined as one of the most important national tasks and factors in
achieving the aims of country's development in the new century and new
millennium.
The anniversary of Amir Temur will be celebrated on an especially large-scale in
the city of Shahrisabz (formerly Kesh), near which (13 km away) he was born in
1336 in the village of Hoja Ilgar.
